The Fourth Political Theory
Alexander Dugin's argument that liberalism, communism and fascism — the three political theories of the twentieth century — have each exhausted themselves, and that a fourth should be assembled from what he calls the elements they discarded: tradition, sacred hierarchy, ethnos and a multipolar world of distinct civilisations rather than a universal order. Dugin draws on Heidegger, Traditionalist writers such as Evola and Guénon, and Eurasianist geopolitics. He is a contested figure whose influence on Russian state thinking is disputed by scholars, and the work is widely read as a far-right project. It is catalogued here as a primary source in contemporary anti-liberal political thought. Preservation is not endorsement.
