Political Extremes · Newsletters
Ron Paul's Freedom Report, Survival Report, Investment Letter and Political Report
Subscription newsletters published under Ron Paul's name between roughly 1978 and 1996, under several mastheads: the Freedom Report, the Investment Letter, the Political Report and the Survival Report. Passages written in the first person and unsigned carried extreme positions on race, crime and conspiracy. They surfaced in a 1996 congressional race, nationally in 2008 when The New Republic published extracts, and again in the 2012 primary. Paul has said he did not write those passages and did not read the newsletters before they went out, while accepting what he called moral responsibility for what appeared under his name; the authorship has never been established. Thirty-four scanned FILES are held here — 75 pages in total, most of them one or two pages. These are The New Republic's own scans, made to evidence its reporting, so they are excerpts and clippings rather than complete issues: 19 of the 34 are a single page and only 5 run to four pages or more. They are mirrored here so they do not rest on a single capture, but nobody should expect a full run of any of these newsletters. Preservation is not endorsement.

- Rights
- In copyright — first published between 1978 and 1996, and NOT public domain. The archive holds these scans as a deliberate exception to its own rule against storing copyrighted work, on the grounds that the publisher's copies are gone, the works are commercially unavailable, and a single surviving capture is not preservation. A rightsholder who wants them removed should write to freeknowledgelibrary@proton.me and they will be taken down.
